Yoga and Journaling is a 3.5 hour discussion and asana practice creating an alternative approach to coping with and reducing the symptoms of anxiety and connecting to the authentic self. Anxiety
has become more prevalent in our society due to daily stresses of work, family, and societal pressures that surround us. Shakira has suffered from the symptoms of depression and anxiety from a young
age, and has found yoga, journaling and meditation to restore her to wholeness over the years.
This workshop consists of 60 minutes of discussion around the triggers that cause anxiety, 90 minutes of asana broken up into sections to flow with discussion, and 60 minutes of meditation and
journaling to increase our understanding and awareness around what causes these symptoms and how to reduce these triggers daily. We will have 30 minutes for lunch. Feel free to bring your own lunch
or plan ahead to eat at The Porch.
A daily yoga practice has the ability to improve depression by increasing self awareness, bringing you back to your true nature and releasing negative thought patterns that encourage
disconnection. Join her for this beautiful class as we move, journal and meditate to learn coping skills that support our daily lives and begin a healing process.
