Here at Uplyft, LLC we want to provide more healing opportunities to the community that help you Train to Relax. Various Yoga techniques are capable of healing the mind, body and spirit. Through these practices we can create a community that bridges the gap within our community and promotes race equity.

 

What is race equity?

Race equity, in our words, is leveling the playing field between all races to create a community that has various voices involved in planning and implementing new ideas that affect the community as a whole.

Ongoing Workshops

Beginner Yoga 102 Online Series

Did you enjoy the Beginner Yoga Series at The Breathing Room? Then join us for Beginner Yoga 102 to "uplyft" your yoga practice. This four week series is all online and accessible whenever you are available. We will learn pranayama to support our yoga practice, as well as begin more challenging sequences.

Uplyft Your Soul Journaling

Are you stressed? Do you feel worried, anxious, or uneasy about life? Do you have mood swings, insomnia or feel depressed and not sure why?

 

Stress can cause any of these to happen to you. Creative Journaling is an effective and safe way to reduce the effects of stress.

Embodying the beauty within by connecting to the authentic self through movement, breath, and art expression

Where: Dr. Renee Healing Arts

This two hour workshop offers an embodied approach to creativity! Connecting to the authentic self through gentle seated movement, breath, and art expression allows us to embrace who we are meant to be. We will practice yoga asana (poses) sequenced with pranayama (breath exercises) and meditation to gather the energy of our bodies, minds and emotions. There will be time for painting, writing, and group discussion. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

Aerial Yoga 5-week Program

Every Tuesday in July

Join Shakira for a five week Aerial Yoga Active Healing Series. Classes will meet Tuesday's in July as well as have a recording available for those who are remote. It's your choice of how you join in on our program and what is most comfortable for you!

Yoga and Journaling

Easing Symptoms of Anxiety

Yoga and Journaling is a 3.5 hour discussion and asana practice creating an alternative approach to coping with and reducing the symptoms of anxiety and connecting to the authentic self. Anxiety has become more prevalent in our society due to daily stresses of work, family, and societal pressures that surround us. Shakira has suffered from the symptoms of depression and anxiety from a young age, and has found yoga, journaling and meditation to restore her to wholeness over the years.

 

This workshop consists of 60 minutes of discussion around the triggers that cause anxiety, 90 minutes of asana broken up into sections to flow with discussion, and 60 minutes of meditation and journaling to increase our understanding and awareness around what causes these symptoms and how to reduce these triggers daily. We will have 30 minutes for lunch. Feel free to bring your own lunch or plan ahead to eat at The Porch.

 

A daily yoga practice has the ability to improve depression by increasing self awareness, bringing you back to your true nature and releasing negative thought patterns that encourage disconnection. Join her for this beautiful class as we move, journal and meditate to learn coping skills that support our daily lives and begin a healing process.

Yoga and Journaling for Depression and Anxiety

Description:

  • Yoga and journaling for depression is a 2.5 hour discussion and asana to reduce the symptoms of depression as you move through life with a more positive outlook. Depression and anxiety have become more prevalent in our society due to daily stresses of work, family, and societal pressures that surround us. Shakira has suffered from the symptoms of depression and anxiety from a young age of 12, and has found yoga, journaling and mediation to restore her to wholeness over the years.
  • This workshop consists of 30 - 45 minutes of discussion, 60 minutes of asana and 15 minutes of meditation and journaling to increase our understanding and awareness around what triggers depressive symptoms and how to reduce these triggers daily.

Yoga for Massage Therapists Workshop

 

When: December 20, 2015

Yoga and Visualization Workshop

 

When: TBD

Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm

Cost: Sliding Scale $25 - $45

 

We will begin the workshop with a short discussion on visualization, vision boards, and setting an intention for our daily practice.  Leading to more understanding of how to let go of what no longer serves us to move toward our inner desires and purpose (dharma).  We will then move into a special asana class to encourage harmony between our yoga practice and our vision. We will focus on pranayama (breath exercises), warming sun salutations, standing and balancing poses, seated poses, arm balances and inversions to implement our vision board intentions into our movements.
